It does look like that, but it’s just a regular sleeper cab. The section behind that is more cargo area, he’s got a massive moving trailer that he left somewhere else

Awesome rig! I love old cab overs. Any interior shots?

What year is it?
No doubt a pleasure to drive on the free flowing wide open streets of the lower mainland.

I don’t actually know, I forgot to ask.
Hah, he’s not down here too often. Usually moving people from one small town to another small town.

Yeah, you don’t see “Dawson Creek” much anywhere past Prince George, no doubt.

They’re actually not all that uncommon in the El Paso area. Plenty of them are still running around Mexico, and via NAFTA some of them make their way around the borderland on our side too. For urban short-haul logistics work in support of the maquiladoras, I imagine the short wheelbase is attractive.

That’s cool to hear. There’s a local moving company based near my work that has one running around in town. I imagine the shorter wheelbase does make their life easier. It always makes me smile when I see it.

I have admit that it would be cool to see one in good shape. While I probably see one a couple of times per week in El Paso, they are never in good shape. On the New Mexico side, they (and really any older truck with Mexican plates) are frequent targets for roadside inspections by DOT officers.

Yeah, that makes sense. The one I see locally is in pretty good shape.
